The Children’s Company, as an award-winning UK television production company, is dedicated to making learning for children fun! Producing highly individual and original programmes and multi-media projects, it also owns one of the UK’s leading children’s audio catalogues.

Working with most of the major broadcasters, it produced for ITV, The Rottentrolls, the innovative puppet and live-action drama series written by award-winning writer, Tim Firth, which gained a BAFTA.

Three further series gained two BAFTA nominations, an RTS and a Broadcast nomination. The Rottentrolls stars the voices of Martin Clunes, John Thomson, Ronni Ancona and Phil Cornwell as well as a personal appearance by Alistair McGowan. Click here for the Rottentrolls website.

Our work for the BBC includes the documentary, Child, which compares the lives of young people affected by HIV/AIDS in the UK and Africa and was broadcast on World AIDS Day.

Child was runner up recently in the prestigious Japan Prize and also aired daily on the Community Channel during its AIDS week initiative.

Our flagship early years series Ripley and Scuff, gave us our second BAFTA. Commissioned by ITV, it has been hugely popular with children across the UK. Visiting schools and communities, championing music and the arts, the 60 x 20 minutes episodes are now playing a major part in the new CITV children’s digital channel. Ripley and Scuff is broadcast 10am Mondays to Fridays on Freeview 75.

Combat Sheep is a spin-off from The Rottentrolls, written by Tim Firth, featuring Commander Harris with the voice of Steve Coogan. Combat Sheep is the heartwarming story of four ex-army mascots jettisoned into the real world, who form a sheep version of the ‘A Team’! First produced as a BBC2 Christmas Special, Hollywood now beckons... as Combat Sheep is to be The Children’s Company’s first movie for Miramax in the USA, which we are co-producing with our friends at Baby Cow Productions, Henry Normal and Steve Coogan.
